Mount Humphreys: Snow in Arizona?

I took this picture May 7, 2006 on top of Mount Humphreys, the tallest point in Arizona, at just over 12,633 feet. The hike to the top and back took 6 hours, with a total elevation gain of over 3000 feet. I was surprised at how much snow was still on the mountain by May. In this picture, the snow melted into a weird icy-pointy formation that I thought looked really cool.
